During their final encounter on Simchat Torah, Yigal sensed a quiet farewell in his son’s demeanor. Shalev seemed to know the risks he faced, yet his resolve remained unbroken. Despite the family’s prayers, the devastating news arrived: Shalev had fallen in battle.

Yigal described Shalev as righteous and pure, a young man who seamlessly blended religious devotion with practical action.
